CDC Must Have Forgotten What Their Main Goal Is

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is one of those respected establishments that has been in existence for years. They work to ensure that lives are saved, people are protected from health and security threats either in the United States (US) and Worldwide. They are one of the most trusted sources you can go to for any health-related information. The latest updated guidelines released from CDC on the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) left me dumbfounded and in disbelief.

Every guideline or initiative is supposed to be based on scientific evidence. However, I am wondering if this is science or politics talking. CDC announced that those who were fully vaccinated did not need to wear masks anymore be it indoors or outdoors. First off, I am not sure what the urgency is to unmask people this quickly. Those who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated could totally take advantage of this. I mean CDC just handed anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers their dream wishes right now.

CDC must be naïve to believe that everyone is trustworthy and confident that those out without masks are all truly fully vaccinated. And unfortunately, falsifying of COVID-19 vaccination card showing one's vaccination status could also be on the rise. Thus, making it difficult to tell one’s true vaccination status. CDC just might have opened a can of worms and we are about to be in for another surprise.

It seems most of us just have not learned anything at all from this pandemic. This latest guideline is premature and we must be cautious with this. CDC, please think of those who are vulnerable especially children from twelve years old and below who cannot take the COVID-19 vaccine just yet. Others do not have access and have not received a single dose.

CDC, with all due respect it seems like you have all given up and are not sure of what you are doing. Remember your main goal is to protect the public’s health and safety through the control and prevention of diseases, injury, and disability in the US and worldwide.
