Recommended Routine Vaccination Calendar in Cameroon

In Cameroon, routine vaccines are recommended not just for children but also for adolescents, pregnant women, and adults to protect us against vaccine-preventable diseases. This vaccination calendar serves as a guide and reminder for the population as to what vaccines they need to take and to keep up to date on ensuring all vaccine doses and booster shots are all completed. While the population is encouraged to respect the timeframe and schedule, any opportunity missed for themselves and their children can always be caught up later.

Most of you might be surprised to see COVID-19 vaccines included in the vaccination calendar. Cameroon’s Ministry of Public Health (MINSANTE) has now included COVID-19 vaccines as part of the vaccination package offered by the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI). While Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson might be the only two types of COVID-19 vaccines included on the calendar, please keep in mind that Cameroon also has Sinopharm and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.

Moreover, pregnant and breastfeeding women in Cameroon are now eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine. However, Pfizer is the only type of COVID-19 vaccine recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Some of you asked me months ago how they could get a copy of the vaccination calendar. Well, you are in luck. Print and paste this calendar where you see fit in your home, or save a copy on your phone or tablet. For more information, always call the toll-free number 1510.
